Will you be my dentist?

Have you heard of Dr. Helaine Smith?

Well, if you’re a fan of David Meerman Scott, or have heard any of the buzz regarding his new book “World Wide Rave : Creating Triggers that Get Millions of People to Spread Your Ideas and Share Your Stories “, then you probably have heard about her.

Dr. Smith is a dentist in the Boston area… I do not want to recite her complete story, because I think it’ll be a great idea to read all about it in the World Wide Rave book.

But basically, she went waaaaay outside of what might be considered normal marketing practices for someone in the dental industry. She found a way to use social media to create awareness and a buzz… and, well, let’s just say that it has worked. She generates between $10,000 and $15,000 a month in new business.

As Mr. Scott might say, “how cool is that!”. Yes, it is very cool… Dr. Smith found a very inexpensive way to greatly grow her business.

As we all continue to work hard and look for ways to grow our business, we need to be more creative than ever before. There is success to be found…. And there are a number of marketing channels available to help us promote our products or services.

Well, can you hear it? That lovely drill making all the noise at Dr. Helene Smith’s office? Yep… that noise means one thing… it’s time to find creative ways to market our business.

Dr. Smith is my hero. I love what she’s doing and it is fun to tell others about her success. As I always say “no excuses – you can do it too.”
