Marketing and Buzz

eMarketer.com published a new chart this morning that I really enjoyed. Here it is:

As marketers, we often strive to be moving forward. We look to acquire new gadgets that will improve our efforts. We try to be at the right conferences and connected to the right people. We yearn to have the perfect working environment.

Those are great goals to have.

But no matter what our situation is, there are more important goals.  Many of them are listed in the chart above. Sure, the chart may be displaying “buzzwords”, but for the most part, the items on that list are far from items that will be hot today and gone tomorrow.

  • No matter what, we need to find ways to measure and demonstrate ROI.
  • No matter what, we must find ways to foster loyalty and to keep our customers happy.
  • And no matter what, we must look to communicate with prospects and customers via the channels that they prefer.

Are you buzzing?
