How One Tweet is Leading Me to BlogWorld NYC

On a daily basis, I am aware (but not proud) of the fact that there are thousands of tweets I miss that pass through my Twitter stream.

But for the tweets that I do see, I am always appreciative of the ones that introduce me to passionate folks, new conferences, new books, and new ideas. Oh, and if the tweet inspires me to push outside of my normal boundaries and take action, then I am forever grateful.

Here is one of them from @tamadear:

BlogWorld: @Tamadear Tweet about speaking proposal

I had heard of BlogWorld prior to this tweet, but I did not know much about it. Thus, I certainly did not know that they had an open call for speaking proposals for their NYC event either.

Well… it took a week for me to build all of the necessary courage to submit a speaking proposal of my own. But I did it.

And then about a week ago I received an email that I absolutely did not expect to ever see — my speaking proposal was accepted!

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be working on building up the courage to speak at the same event that some of my favorite bloggers, marketers, writers, and presenters will be at. I’m a bit nervous, indeed. But I am absolutely thrilled that this tweet has led me to one heck of an exciting opportunity.

If you’ll be attending BlogWorld, I’d love to see you there.
